Conservatives love Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke for many reasons, and this no-holds-barred interview had them all.
In a sit-down with CNN host Don Lemon Monday morning, Clarke didn’t hold back CNN anchor Don Lemon attempted to open the segment with a statement that he had spoken with police and sheriff departments in the Baton Rouge area and theirs was a message of peace.
“You don’t believe that for one minute, do you?” Clarke said, referring to Lemon’s consistently liberal positions on police confrontations.
Lemon, obviously taken aback by Clarke’s remark, eventually said he did believe them, but not before he embarrassed himself by a long, dimwitted delay.
Clarke instantly turned the interview around and began asking Lemon if there had been any protests over the deaths of the cops on Baton Rouge or Dallas.
Lemon avoided the question and punted back to Clarke and asked what his message to America was about the violence against police.
And that’s when Clarke let loose.
“This anti-cop sentiment from this hateful ideology called Black Lives Matter has fueled this rage against the American police officer,” Clarke said.
“I’ve been watching this for two years. I’ve predicted this,” Clarke said.
“This anti-police rhetoric sweeping the country has turned out some hateful things inside of people that are now playing themselves out on the American police officer.”
Clarke blamed the Black Lives Matter movement for encouraging violent crimes against law enforcement officers, and said members of the group were “purveyors of hate.”
Clarke also argued that the movement’s ideology was false, claiming there is no data that proves law enforcement officers treat black males more aggressively than white males.
Clarke went on to explain to Lemon how President Barack Obama is lying to the American public racism among police officers.
While Lemon refused to condemn the Black Lives Matter movement for inciting hate and violence, Clarke did, and added that there is no place in American discourse for the kind of hate the BLM movement espouses.
He then said that there is only one guard that really cares about black Americans and that’s the police — who go into their neighborhoods every day to protest them.
The heated exchange between the men is worth watching and sharing:
