Before leaving the White House, former President Obama tried to quickly enact a wave of policies and regulations.
Among those was an executive order to give $221 million in US taxpayers’ dollars to the terror-supporting Palestinian Authority. In defiance of Congress.
Well, old Barry apparently didn’t learn how things really work during his eight years as president.
Probably was playing golf when they explained the finer details.
At any rate, it’s not as if that money was immediately wired to the Palestinian leadership. It takes time.
And that gave President Trump and his team the opportunity to again freeze the money.
Sorry Obama, this little ploy, like so many others, didn’t work out how you wanted.
The Trump State Department announced that the funds are again frozen until the new secretary of state takes up his role.
And even then, it needs to again be reviewed, as the Palestinians have continued to fail to meet congressional conditions to receive the money
“I worked to make sure that no American taxpayer dollars would fund the Palestinian Authority unless very strict conditions were met,” said Texas Congresswoman Kay Granger.
“The Obama Administration’s decision to release these funds was inappropriate,” she added.
