Natasha Cloud guarantees Mystics will win WNBA Finals

UNCASVILLE, Conn. — Natasha Cloud is sure her Washington Mystics will get the job done on Thursday in Game 5 of the WNBA Finals.

“We’re going back home to D.C. for Game 5, so our fans better be ready because we’re winning a championship on our floor,” Cloud told WUSA’s Darren Haynes after the Mystics lost Game 4.

Was that a guarantee?

“That’s a guarantee,” Cloud said solemnly.

Connecticut Sun guard Courtney Williams caught wind of the comment and responded in kind on Twitter:

Both teams have reason to be confident: Connecticut has the momentum right now after pulling out a 90-86 win on their home court. But the Mystics had a 2-1 advantage in the series and led by as many as five points in the fourth quarter of Game 4. Now they’ll enjoy home-court advantage in the winner-take-all game, thanks to their 26-8 regular season record and No. 1 seed.

Game 5 is set for 8 p.m. Thursday at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
